A Historical Materialist Elucidation of Chinese-Style Modernization:Theoretical Generation, Practice Orientation and Institutional Construction
To make an in-depth study of Chinese-style modernization is a current mission and task. On-ly by standing on the height of historical materialism can we truly "understand Chinese-style mod-ernization". The early leaders of the Communist Party of China represented by Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu, Cai Hesen, etc. accepted and applied the principle of historical materialism and held the flag for exploring the Chinese path to modernization with a materialistic conception of history. After the founding of New China, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai placed China's modernization on the agenda and put forward the development strategy of "Four Modernizations" in a pioneering way. Deng Xi-aoping created a new concept of "Chinese-style modernization" in the new period of reform and o-pening-up and socialist modernization, endowing modernization with new connotation and new i-deas, which overlap and highly conform with various categories of historical materialism. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Xi Jinping has deepened and expanded "Chi-nese-style modernization" in a comprehensive way. Based on historical materialism, the Commu-nist Party of China has finished the construction of a grand theoretical system for Chinese-style modernization.
