Can Digital Economy Effectively Improve China's Provincial Carbon Productivity?
As an important integral part of China's economic structure under the new normal, digital e-conomy can help achieve a win-win situation of both economic and environmental benefits.Based on provincial panel data,a spatial econometric model and a moderated intermediary effect model are constructed to test the impact of digital economy on carbon productivity, which can provide theoretical and empirical support for the coupling and coordination of"dual carbon"goal and high-quality economic development.Digital economy can significantly increase carbon productivity in the region and its positive effects will spill over into neighboring regions. The impact of digital e-conomy on carbon productivity is heterogeneous, and its effect of improving carbon productivity is more significant in China's central and western regions.Digital economy can improve carbon pro-ductivity by improving the energy mix while green taxation will play an important moderating role in this process. Therefore,we should actively advance the process of digital development, attach importance to guiding the rational distribution of digital resources in various regions, constantly im-prove the coordinative mechanism of digital economy and green taxation and realize the coordinated development of economic growth and environmental protection.
