Annual Report on the Development of Indonesia Studies(2023)
The Chinese academic community yielded relatively fruitful outcomes in the research on Indonesia in 2023 with major characteristics in rich topics,improved methods and outstanding references.The research mainly focuses on Indonesia's do-mestic situation,which is primarily studied in terms ofits politics,economy,society,history,culture,etc.,and its diplomatic poli-cies and foreign relations,which are mainly investigatedfrom the perspectives of the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and China,Indonesia's foreign strategy,Indonesia's relations with other countries and regional organizations,and Indonesia's par-ticipation in global and regional governance,showing continuous enrichment and expansion in these regards.In the research,the methods are constantly enriched and innovated as interdisciplinary methods and new theoretical analysis paths are applied,and field research has become a highlight.The reference function has been further enhanced,and most research results are reality-oriented.However,there are also shortcomingswith regard tothe academic research on Indonesia in 2023,such as an imbalance of research topics,insufficient theoretical improvement,and a lack of first-hand information.In the future,there will be an urgent need to strengthen basic research,theoretical construction,and interdisciplinary collaborative research on Indonesia.
