Annual Report on the Development of Thai Studies(2023)
2023 is the starting year for the construction of Area and International Studies,which became a first-level disci-pline under the category of interdisciplinary studies in September 2022.As Thailand has always been one of the important coun-tries for area and international studies,Chinese and foreign scholars have been focusing on the issues such as Thailand's dynastic politics,national consciousness,social culture,historical memory,Chinese diaspora and geostrategy and achieved fruitful theo-retical results,which not only lays a solid foundation for the Thai studies in the new era,but also provides theoretical support for effectively responding to the real needs of building a China-Thailand community with a shared future.Therefore,it is necessary and of great theoretical and practice value to summarize and sort out the frontiers of Thai studies in 2023,grasp the research direc-tion and development trend,reflect on the inadequacies of previous research and make future research prospects.
