In 2023,the research outcome of the social science community has been fruitful in the Philippines studies with the focus and hotspot on security and strategy in international relations.Scholars studied the Philippine-U.S.alliance factors in the China-U.S.game,Philippine security policy and South China Sea policy,Philippine domestic politics,economy,society,educa-tion and China-Philippine relations, etc.,and have made many achievements in their research on the role of the Philippines in the Indo-Pacific strategy of the United States, the historical review of the South China Sea policy of the Philippines, the analysis of the latest national security policy of the Philippines, family politics, network populism, the Philippine economy, overseas Chi-nese,vocational education,Chinese language education,China-Philippines relations, bilateral trade and industrial cooperation be-tween China and the Philippines, etc. The next step is to conduct or further deepen thematic research based on the existing, and actively engage in theoretical innovation. In addition, there is still much to be explored in many fields such as history,society,cul-ture and China-Philippine relations.Due to the prior discipline setting, the current Philippine studies are mainly concentrated in international relations, education and overseas Chinese and so on while the research achievement of other disciplines on the Phil-ippines are scattered and limited. The problems of excessive concentration of research directions and the imbalance of research ef-forts in Philippine studies need to be effectively addressed. The future Philippine studies need to rely on the construction of re-gional and country studies, and require the organic integration of various disciplines such as history, political science,interna-tional relations, national security, economics, law, anthropology and sociology,so that the Philippines studies can continue to be deepened with more and better results.
