Thailand's Energy Transition Strategy:Strategic Objectives,Implementation and Cooperation
In the new era of the energy revolution, ensuring energy security, addressing climate change and promoting eco-nomic modernization serve as the three driving forces of Thailand's energy strategy reset. In response to the demands of the times and the domestic energy landscape,Thailand has developed the short-term,medium-termand long-term energy transformation roadmap.Concurrently,Thailand has strengthened the institutional framework and policy regulations for energy transition,ac-tively diversifying the energy structure dominated by fossil fuels through various measures and methods.Over the years,Thai-land's energy transformation has yielded increasingly significant results. The installed scale of renewable energy has continued to expand and the energy mix has continued to optimize, ranking at the forefront of energy transformation countries in Southeast Asia. However, the transformation is not without challenges.Thailand faces issues such as insufficient governance capacity,fund-ing shortages, technological gaps, talent deficiencies, and resistance from environmental organizations.Despite those challenges, with consistent policy support, technological innovation and international collaboration,Thailand is likely to achieve a green and low-carbon energy transformation in the future.China serves as an essential partner in Thailand's energy transformation. Both countries should enhance planning and policy coordination, increase input and innovation in production factors, expand public participation and support, and promote global energy governance reforms and cooperation. This not only facilitates the optimiza-tion of both energy structures but also makes positive contributions to the global energy transformation.
