Ho Chi Minh's Cultural Celebrity Status:Exploring His Theoretical,Journalistic,and Literary Achievements in China
2024 marks the 100th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in Guangzhou,China.Ho Chi Minh was a great proletarian revolutionary and a cultural figure.Before Vietnam's independence in 1945,Ho Chi Minh spent at least 12 years conducting revolutionary activities in China.During this period,Ho Chi Minh participated in the work of the Commu-nist Party of China(CPC)while making various preparations for the Vietnamese revolution.He was actively engaged in theory,journalism,and literature,and achieved outstanding results.In terms of theory,in order to explore the path of the Vietnamese revolution,Ho Chi Minh wrote a large number of works and articles in China,notably The Revolution Path(Ðuòng Kách M(ê)nh),a compilation of lectures given at the Vietnamese cadre training courses held in Guangzhou,and The Liberation Road(Con Ð(uò)ng Gi(a)i Phóng)compiled mainly from lectures for the Vietnamese cadre training courses held in Jingxi,Guangxi.In those writings,Ho Chi Minh pointed out a correct path for the Communist Party of Vietnam(CPV)and the Vietnamese people to break free from French colonial rule and achieve national liberation.In terms of journalism,in order to promote the Vietnamese revolution,Ho Chi Minh founded the Vietnamese language newspaper Youth(Báo Thanh Niên)in Guangzhou in June 1925 as the official newspaper of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League(H(o)i Vi(ê)t Nam Cách m(a)ng Thanh niên).This marked the beginning of the establishment of revolutionary newspapers and the development of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam.Ho Chi Minh also directed the work of Tongsheng Daily(Báo Ð(o)ng Thanh),which was secretly organized and hosted by the CPV in Yun-nan,China.He wrote many news articles in China and sent them to the Inprekorr(International Press Correspondence)of the Communist International,the National Salvation Daily led by the CPC,the progressive newspaper of Vietnam Our Voice(Ti(ê)ng Nói C(u)a Ta),and other newspapers for publication.In terms of literature,based on the hot soil of the Chinese revolution,Ho Chi Minh combined with the international anti-fascist war situation and his own revolutionary experience,and referred to the writing style of traditional Chinese poetry to create over a hundred"seven-character poems"and"five-character poems"with rela-tively free rhyme pattems,among which the well-known Chinese poetry collection Prison Diary stands out.Ho Chi Minh's achievements mentioned above have greatly enriched the treasure trove of Ho Chi Minh's thought and established his historical status as a"cultural celebrity".
