Analyses of Buck-Boost Converter Based on the Principle of Volt-second Balance
There are some incomplete analyses of buck-boost converters in current materials of power electronics. Based on the principle of volt-second balance, this paper analyzes the buck-boost converter comprehensively. Next, the ratio of input and output voltage in full range is derived, and the critical working conditions in continuous conduction mode and discontinuous conduction mode are analyzed. Last, the effects of circuit parameters on current and voltage rip- ple are illustrated. On the one hand, this paper can help to understand thoroughly the operating principle of buck-boost converter, and on the other hand, it also can help to analyses DC-DC converters uniformly, which has certain signifi- cance in the teachings of power electronics.
