Discussion on Teaching of Electromagnetic Wave Oblique Incidence
The concept of directional impedance is used to link the reflection coefficient and transmission coefficient of a plane wave at oblique incidence angles with the corresponding coefficients at normal incidence. The intuitive analogizing makes the complex formulas of the reflection coefficient and transmission coefficient at oblique incidence easy to remember. The analogizing also helps students to better understand the content. Finally, the energy conservation problem at total reflection is discussed.
