Research on the Effective Range of Dynamic Reactive Power Support for the Condenser of UHVDC Converter Station
A study was conducted to address the issue of insufficient dynamic reactive power support capacity of the converter station condenser.Firstly,based on the equivalent circuit diagram of the UHV converter station with a condenser,the expression of the converter bus voltage was derived,and the short-circuit ratio and fault location were the main influencing factors;then,considering the size of the system short circuit ratio and the fault location,analyze whether after fault the condenser can effectively raise the converter bus voltage to the expected value,and then obtain its effective range of action;finally,simulation validation was implemented using PSCAD.The proposed method can evaluate the effective range of the dynamic reactive power support capability of the converter station condenser.
