Investigation and analysis of medication compliance after discharge in acute myocardial infarction patients with late-reperfusion
AIM: To study the related factors influencing medication compliance after discharge in acute myocardial infarction patients with late-reperfusion. METHODS: A questionnaire model was used to study the association between variables and medication compliance among acute myocardial infarction patients with late-reperfusion. The variables included were sociological population characteristics, frequency of consultation with doctor, health faith and family environment. RESULTS: Poor compliance was found in patients, who were neglectful of the disease, not knowing the state of illness, neglectful of return visits, not knowing the harmfulness of non-compliance, lack of health, lack of family care, and from the low-income group ( < 300 Yuan/ month). The compliance rates for the above factor were respectively 15.5% , 15.6% , 13% , 15.5% , 17% , 19.5% and 29% (P < 0.01). Thebetter the patients knew the harmfulness of non-compliance and the state of illness, the better the medication compliance (OR = 1.439, 95% CI = 1.106~1.872; OR = 1.730; 95% CI = 1.498~2.205, P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Medical staff should take various measures to increase the awareness of the importance of medication compliance among patients of acute myocardial infarction with reperfusion. Timely drug adjustment according to the economic status of the patients improves medication compliance.
