Effect of Huoxiang Zhenqi extract on intestine dynamic disorder and NO content in IBS-D rats
AIM: To explore whether Huoxiang Zhenqi ( HXZQ) extract can regulate the intestine dynamic disorder and NO content in mice with IBS-D. METHODS: Forty mice were randomly divided into normal group, model group, high-dosage group, middle-dosage group, and low-dosage group, with 8 in each group. Mice models of IBS-D were established by Folium Cassiae intragastric administration and limb tying stress. The high, middle, and low-dosage groups received different doses of HXZQ (804, 536 and 268 mg/kg) for 4 days, and once daily. The intestine prochoresis and the content of NO were detected. RESULTS: Compared with that in normal group, intestine prochoresis was accelerated obviously (P < 0.01) and the content of NO decreased in model rate ( P < 0. 01 ). The intestine prochoresis in middle-dosage HXZQ group declined ( P < 0.05 ) , while the content of NO increased in high- and middle-dosage HXZQ groups ( P < 0. 01). CONCLUSION: Huoxiang Zhenqi extract regulates the intestine dynamic disorder in IBS-D rats.
