Diagnostic value of 3D contrast enhancement magnetic resonance angiography to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis
AIM:To study the diagnostic value of 3D contrast enhancement magnetic resonance angiography to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. METHODS :To analyze retrospectively the imaging data of 12 CVST patients in our hospital from May in 2005 to June in 2008. To compare the diagnostic value to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis between 3D contrast enhancement magnetic resonance angiography and 2D TOF magnetic resonance angiography. RESULTS: 3D-CE MRA provided a superior visualization of the extent of thrombosis, degree of occlusion and collateral veins than do 2D-TOF MRA (P < 0. 01, respectively). At 3D-CE MRA, MIP images combined MPR、CPR and source images were superior to only using MIP images(P<0.01, respectively). CONCLUSION: 3D contrast enhancement magnetic resonance angiography is significant to the diagnose of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. The combination of multiple postprocessing display modalities can elevate the diagnostic accurate rate.
