Expression of PTTG1 and CyclinB1 in human colon carcinoma and its clinical significance
AIM: To investigate the expression of PTTG1 and CyclinBl in human colon carcinoma and its significance. METHODS: Immunohistochemical SP method was used to test the expressions of PTTG1 and CyelinB1 in 65 cases of human colon carcinoma,30 cases of human colon adenoma and 30 cases of human mucosa adjacent to carcinoma. RESULTS: No expression of PTTG1 and CyclinB1 was observed in mucosa adjacent to carcinoma. The positive expression rates of PTTG1 and CyclinB1 were respectively 13.3% and 20.0% in colon adenoma and were respectively 72. 3% and 82. 1% in colon carcinoma. Significant difference was found between PTTG1 and CyclinB1 expression of mucosa adjacent to carcinoma and colon adenoma and that in colon carcinoma (P<0.05). The expressions of the PTTG1 and CyclinB1 were related with histological differentiation, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and Dukes stage. CONCLUSION: The over-expression of PTTG1 and CyclinB1 may be involved in the progression and metastasis of colon carcinoma.
