Ultrastructure of nonfunctioning pituitary adenoma derived cell-F
AIM: To study the morphology, ultrastructure fea-tures and regulation of exocrine secretion of human nonfunctioning pituitary adenoma derived cell-F cultured in vitro. METHODS: Human nonfunctioning pituitary adenoma derived cell-F was cultured in vitro and was detected using microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and immunocytechemistry. RESULTS: Under optical microscope, human nonfunctioning adenoma derived cell-F looked like an irregularly-shaped polygon or rotundity. Electron micro-scopic examination of the microstructure of these cells showed that the surfaces of the cells contained some multiple microvilli, which were rod-shaped with dilated tops. Mitochondrial inside swelled, condensed and secreted sparser granules(150-220 nm) and they contained enlarged nucleolus, with margination in the nuclei. CONCLUSION: The nonfunctioning pituitary adenoma derived cell-F cultured in vitro is in good condition and maintains the ability of proliferation and differentiation.
