Tumor inhibiting and immunoloregulation effects of Tiaoheng Prescription on Lewis lung carcinoma of tumor-bearing mice
AIM: To investigate the mechanisms of tumor inhibiting and immunoloregulation of "Tiaoheng Prescription" on Lewis lung carcinoma of Tumor-bearing Mice. METHODS: The mouse model of Lewis lung carcinoma of tumor-bearing mice was established and then the mice were given Tiaoheng Formula by intragastric administration. Twelve days later, the mice were executed and the tumour tissue smears were prepared. The cell feature in tumour tissue was observed under light microscope, and the expression of CD4 + and CD8 + on the cellular membrane of the T lymphocyte in tumour tissue and the level of IL-2 in the peripheral blood was detected with immunohistochemical or ELISA method. RESULTS: A large amount of damaged and apoptoric Lewis lung carcinoma cells were found in Tiaoheng Prescription midst and large dosage group, and the changes of cell feature in control group were not obvious. The expressions of CD4 + and CD8 + on the membrane of T cells in tumour tissue were increased in Tiaoheng Prescription midst and large dosage groups, and CD8 + expression was increased in heat-shock group, masculine group, and Tiaoheng Prescription minidose groups. The production of IL-2 by immunocyte obviously enhanced in Tiaoheng Prescription [25 g/(kg · d) by gavage for 12 d]- treated group(P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Tiaoheng Prescription can inhibit the cancer cell of Lewis lung carcinoma in mice. The mechanism may be related to that Tiaoheng Prescription Can enhancement of T lymphocyte immunological function by regulating the expression of T lymphocyte CD4 + and CD8 + molecules in Lewis lung carcinoma, enhance the activity level of IL-2 in the peripheral blood, and to prohibit the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells.
