Establishment and significance of immortal lymphoblastoid cell lines of familial adenomatous polyposis
AIM: To establish immortal lymphoblastoid cell lines of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and to provide materials for further research of FAP. METHODS: Immortal lymphoblastoid cell lines of FAP were established by Epstein-Barr (EB) virus transformation of peripheral blood B lymphocytes from members of FAP and addition of cyclosporine A. RESULTS: Twenty-five immortal cell lines of two FAP pedigrees were successfully obtained with a transformation rate of 100%. The culture recovery rate was 100%. CONCLUSION: The established immortal lymphoblastoid cell lines are good materials used for molecular level study of FAP.
