Evaluation of microplate polybrene without a centrifuge in detecting hemolytic disease of newborn
AIM: To evaluate the ability of microplate polybrene without a centrifuge (MPWC) in detecting hemolytic disease of newborn(HDN). METHODS: We used three methods, MPWC, Polyhrene tube method (PTM) and Microcolumn gel technique (MGT), to detect hemolytic disease of newborn at the same time. RESULTS: Of the three methods, the time of testing, MGT is the longest, MPWC is longer than PTM when in detecting single, but with the increasing of samples, the MPWC is shorter than PTM. The ability of detecting HDN has no significant statistical difference among the three methods. CONCLUSION: MPWC is a rapid, simple, effective and efficient method without tube and centrifuge for detecting HDN.
