Correlation between CacyBP/SIP and breast carcinoma
AIM:To study the relationship between the expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast carcinoma and its pathologic characteristics, relapse, metastasis and prognosis.METHODS:The expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast carcinoma was detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC)and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).RESULTS:The expression rate of CacyBP/SIP was 56.96%(45/79)in breast carcinoma tissue samples and 35.44%(28/79)in adjacent noncancerous breast tissues,respectively.CacyBP/SIP was mainly located in the cytoplasm of breast carcinoma. The expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast cancer was positively related with clinical pathologic characteristics, including metastasis of lymph node, tumor staging, and histology grading. There was no relationship between CacyBP/SIP expression in breast carcinoma and patient's age, status of menses, tumor size and expression of ER,PR and CerbB-2,respectively.The expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast carcinoma was also related to relapse and metastasis. The CacyBP/SIP expression was higher in metastatic group compared to that in no metastatic group. The expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast carcinoma had a negative correlation with patients'survival, and it had a positive correlation with accumulated risk of relapse and metastasis.CONCLUSION:The result demonstrated that there existed higher expression of CacyBP/SIP in breast carcinoma.CacyBP/SIP was involved in the occurrence, development, and metastasis of breast carcinoma. It may be one of factors to evaluate the poor prognosis in patients with breast carcinoma.
