Caries incidence of the first permanent molars of the primary school students in Haidian District,Beijing
AIM:To investigate the caries incidence of the first permanent molars of the primary school students in Haidian District,Beijing.METHODS:Cross-sectional study was used in 4067 students who were 7 to 12-year-old and randomizly selected from 8 schools in Haidian District,Beijing.Chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship amony the caries incidence and the age,sex,frequency of tooth brushing per day.RESULTS:The caries incidence was 16.3%,when the boys'was 13.79% and girls was 18.78%.Girls'was significantly higher than boys.The rate was increased from 10.03%to 21.18%with age.409 pupils brushed less than twice per day,accounting for 11.47%.The first molar caries rate of the pupils who brushed more than twice per day was significantly lower than those less than once perday.CONCLUSION:Sex,age,frequency of tooth brushing per day were factors closely related with the caries rate of the first permanent molars.
