Relationship between students' life satisfaction and trait coping style in middle school students of Chongqing
AIM:To investigate the relationship between student's life satisfaction and trait coping style in middle school students of Chongqing.METHODS:Multidimensional Students'life Satisfaction Scale(MSLSS-Chinese Version)and Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ)were adopted in the study to test the randomly sampled 1596 middle school students of Chongqing.RESULTS:Students'life Satisfaction level was above middle level.The differenees in both students'life satisfaction and trait coping style were to some extent significant between genders,grades and school types.Different degrees of students'life satisfaction had correlation with various factors of coping style in different degrees.Coping style was a valuable predictor of students'life satisfaction.Different factors of coping style could accounted for 11.5%,12.7%,8.3%,1.7%,and 20.4%variations of the whole students'life satisfaction,family satisfaction,friend satisfaction,school satisfaction,living environment satisfaction and self satisfaction,respectively.CONCLUSION:Students'life satisfaction is significantly correlated to trait coping style of middle school students.Using positive coping style improves the level of students'life satisfaction.
