Geographical distribution of the normal reference value of forced vital capacity of adolescent boys
AIM: To supply a scientific basis for uniting the normal reference value standard of forced vital capacity of Chinese adolescent boys. METHODS: A research is made about the rela tionship between the normal reference value of 6071 examples of forced vital capacity of Chinese healthy adolescent boys and eight geographical factors in 70 areas in China. RESULTS: It is found that the correlation of geographical factors and the normal reference value of forced vital capacity of Chinese adolescent boys are quite significant ( F = 10. 636, P = 0.000). Applying the method of mathematical regression analysis, one regression equation isinferred: Y = 2.501 + 0. 0O9689X_2 - 0.4050X_3 + 0. 1393X_4 -0.02982X_5 -0. 001257X_7 ±0.660. In the above equation, Y is the normal reference value of forced vital capacity of adolescent boys( L) ; X_2 is the annual sunshine duration( h) ; X_3 is the annu al percentage of sunshine duration ( % ) ; X_4 is the annual mean air temperature (t ) ; X_5 is the annual range of air temperature (℃ ) ; X_7 is the annual precipitation amount( mm) ; 0. 660 is the value of the residual standard deviations. CONCLUSION : If geographical values are obtained in some areas, the normal reference value of forced vital capacity of Chinese adolescent boys of this area can be reckoned by using the regression equations. Furthermore, according to the similarity of the normal reference value of forced vital capacity of Chinese adolescent boys, China can be divided into eight regions.
