Effect of Juteng Capsule on inflammatory factors of spontaneous hypertensive rats
AIM: To study the effect and machanism of Juteng Capsule in treating spontaneous hypertensive rats through raesuring blood pressure and observing the expression of TNF-α and CRP so as to provide theoretic basis of inflammatory function for the clini cal application of Juteng Capsule. METHODS: A total of 30 male SHR rats were randomly divided into 3 groups ( n = 10 ) ; blank group, Captopril and Juteng group. The tail artery blood pressure was determined by using instrument for measuring blood pressure in rats, the whole blood was collected and the serum level of TNF-α and CRP was measured by ELISA in each group, and the expres sion of TNF-α and CRP in myocardium was observed with the immunohistochemical staining in each group. RESULTS: After 4 weeks of drug therapy, the blood pressure was significantly decreased in Juteng and Captopril group compared with that in blank group (P <0.05) ;the contents of TNF-α and CRP in serum were decreased in Juteng and Captopril group compared with that in blank group ( P < 0. 05 ) , significant difference appeared in Juteng group compared with that in Captopril group ( P < 0. 05 ) ; imraunohistochemistry examination of the myocardium showed that the expression of TNF-α and CRP in Juteng and Captopril group was lower than those of in the blank group. CONCLUSION: Juteng Capsule can lower blood pressure, degrade the level of TNF-α and CRP in serum, reduce the expression of TNF-α and CRP in myocardium,decrease cardiac damage due to inflammatory reaction.
