Protective effects of GnRH-a on reproductive function in chemotherapy-treated rat
AIM: To investigate the protection of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) on reproductive function in rats with chemotherapy. METHODS: Forty female SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, 10 rats per group,by intraperito-neal injection, blank control group, cyclophosphamide group, GnRHa group and GnRHa + CTX groups, after administration to make female conception. After pregnancy of 20 d, pregnant rats were sacrificed to observe the different of each group of pregnant mice and fetal rat. RESULTS: The four experimental group, fetal rats mortality of cyclophosphamide group compared with controls were significantly ( P < 0.05 ). Observation of the four experimental groups of the internal organs and no obvious skeletal malformations in fetal mice. CONCLUSION: Use Triptorelin prior to the cyclophosphamide can reduce mortality in rats, the protection of ovarian may be to rat fertility has certain protective effect.
