Expression and effect of Bcl-2 and Bax on gluteal muscle contracture
AIM: To explore expression and effect of apoptosis-related gene Bcl-2 and Bax on gluteal muscle contracture( CMC). METHODS: Harvest contraction band and adjacent muscle from GMC patients and explore the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax using immunohistochemistry, Reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction ( RT-PCR ) and Western bolt analysis. RESULTS:Bcl-2 was intensely expressed in fibroblast cells. Its expression increased 6. 1-fold and 3. 9-fold at mRNA level and protein level, respectively ( P < 0.05). Bax was faintly expressed in fibroblast cells. However, the expression of Bax was not increased at both of the levels ( P > 0. 05 ). CONCLUSION: Unbalanced change of Bcl-2 and Bax may initiate and propagate the fibrotic cascade in the gluteal muscles of GMC patients.
