Synergistic inhibitory effects of static magnetic fields and adriamycin on breast cancer cell line MCF-7 in vitro
AEM:To explore the synergistic effects of static magnetic fields(SMF)and adriamycin(ADM)on cell growth in human breast cancer cell MCF-7 in vitro.METHODS:The MCF-7 cells were exposed to SMF in combination with various concentrations of ADM for 24 h.To analyze SMF effects in cell growth,MTT assay, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and Western Blot analysis were used.RESULTS:SMF exposure significantly enhanced the cell growth inhibition and apoptosis by ADM,in which cell cycle arrest, cleaved Caspase-3,and reactive oxygen species(ROS)increased.CONCLUSION:SMF(10 mT)could enhance the antitumor effects of ADM,and would be a possibility of comprehensive therapy for breast cancer.
