Association of PPARγ2 gene Pro12Ala polymorphism in type 2 diabetes with coronary heart disease
AIM:To determine frequencies distribution of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor3,2(PPAR72)gene prol 2Ala polymorphism genotype and allele and relationship in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)with coronary heart disease (CHD).METHODS:Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-restrion fragment length polymorphism was used to determine the distribution of allele and genotype frequencies of Prol2Ala polymorphism in(PPARγ2)gene in 288 patients with T2DM and 258 patients with T2DM and CHD,case-contrast analysis was used to study the association between Pro12 Ala polymorphism in T2DM and CHD and T2DM.RESULTS:The 12 Ala allele frequencies in T2DM groups was 6.3%and in T2DM and CHD groups was 3.9%(P=0.157),The 12 Ala allele Was less frequent in the T2DM and CHD patients than in the T2DM subjects.CONCLUSION:The PPARγ12Ala allele Was not associated with coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
