In modern power generating system, distributed generation techniques become important supplements to traditional power grid increasingly. The authors describe the advantages, kinds and features of various distributed generating techniques and the market development trends of their own. The present application situation of various kinds of fuel cells in distributed generation market and their application prospects are analyzed in detail. Considering the national condition of China, it is pointed out that China possesses the condition of applying fuel cell based distributed generation technique and the development of this technique should be accelerated.
