Dynamic Equivalent Algorithm for Wind Farm Composed of Direct-Drive Wind Turbines
Taking the consistency of operational characteristic at grid-connection point as objective, a new equivalent algorithm for wind farm composed of direct-drive wind turbines is proposed. In the proposed algorithm a clustering index that can reflect operational characteristics of all direct-drive wind power generators is defined, and clustering algorithm is utilized to cluster direct-drive wind power generators; based on the consistency principle between power converting characteristic of wind turbine of equivalent wind power generator and that of the wind turbine for single wind power generator, the equivalence of parameters of wind turbines for wind power generators belonging to the same cluster is performed; based on the principle that the sum of output power of wind power generators to be equivalent is equal to the output power of the equivalent wind power generator, the static-state equivalence of collector line of wind farm is performed. Simulation results show that before and after the equivalence the operational characteristics at grid-connection point are consistent, thus the proposed equivalent algorithm can reflect the grid-connection characteristic of wind farm composed of direct-drive wind turbine more accurately.
