Analysis of the Role,Improvement,and Research Prospects of Virtual Impedance in Grid-forming Droop Control
With the acceleration of the construction process of the new power system,the penetration rate of new energy and other power electronic sources in the system continues to increase,the strength of the power grid weakens,and the system security is challenged.Some converters urgently need to adopt grid-forming control,and droop control is a classic grid-forming control strategy.Virtual impedance technology has received widespread attention as an effective improvement method for droop control strategy.With the joint efforts of domestic and foreign researchers,virtual impedance technology has achieved rich theoretical research and practical results and has broad application prospects.This paper analyzes the main positioning and mechanism of virtual impedance in grid-forming droop control,summarizes typical improvement methods and development status of virtual impedance,and combines current research progress and trends to analyze,explore,and judge the research prospects,the key problems may be faced and need to be solved in the future of virtual impedance technology.
