Fault Analysis of Rotor Lead Wire Breakage of Fast Dynamic Response Synchronous Condenser
The synchronous condenser concerns grid voltage stability, dynamic reactive power support ability, and new energy consumption.Based on a ground fault case of the condenser rotor, through on-site inspection, disassembly inspection within the manufacturing plant, test analysis, fault recurrence experiment, and the inspection of condensers of the same model in other converter stations,it is found that there is a 4mm suspension area in the radial direction due to unreasonable design and defects in the craftsmanship of the rotor lead wire,in addition,long-term running wear and tear ultimately leads to the lead wire breakage and melting triggering the condenser trip.Fully evaluating the reliability and applicability of each section of the rotor lead wire structure of this type of condenser and fully considering the centrifugal force and vibration under all operating conditions to ensure the tight connection of the lead wire and supporting insulation, the solution is proposed, which lays the foundation for the safety and reliability of the condensers in operation and to be manufactured.
