Determination of Blood Growth Related Hormones in Different Weaning Age Piglets
The aims of this study were to investigate the effects of weaning age on plasma growth related hormones indexes in piglets.A total of 24 crossed-bred piglets from 8 litters with similar age and body weight were randomly assigned to 4 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 1 piglet in each replicate. The 4 groups were 14 days of age weaning group,21 days of age weaning group,28 days of age weaning group and 35 days of age weaning group, respectively. All piglets were slaughtered at 42 days of age and blood samples were acquired. The plasma GH,INS,T3 and T4 contents of piglets were measured by radioimmunoassay. The results showed that plasma GH,T3 and T4 contents of piglets were no significant difference among all groups (P>0.05);INS contents in 35 days of age weaning groups were higher than that in 14 days of age weaning groups(P<0.05).The results indicated that the effect of different weaning age on growth related hormones of piglets is no significant different.
