Feline herpesvirus Ⅰ(FHV-1)is one of the most common feline viruses, with a wide range of sus-ceptibility and latency, which is especially harmful to young cats, with an infection rate of 100%and a mor-tality of 50%.Moreover,the prevention effect of existing commercial vaccines is not ideal, and there are no drugs with significant therapeutic effect. Therefore,it is particularly important to strengthen the research of FHV-1.This paper reviewed the etiology, epidemiology, clinical symptoms and pathological lesions of FHV-1 infection, summarized the newly emerging detection methods of FHV-1 in recent years, and summarized effective prevention and treatment measures for FHV-1,providing a theoretical basis for future clinical di-agnosis and treatment, drug screening, detection and prevention, and vaccine research and development.
