Prevalence Investigation of Feline Calicivirus in Xi'an from 2020 to 2023
In order to understand the relation between the incidence of feline calicivirus(FCV)infection and several factors,such as the season,sex,breed,age,clinical symptoms,blood test results etc,this survey was carried out based on the statistical analysis of FCV positive cases from Xi'an Animal Hospital of Northwest A&F University between June 2020 and June 2023.The results showed that the incidence of FCV is 3.20%.The positive rate of FCV detection in suspected cases is 45.81%.Among them,the incidence rate of British shorthair is the highest,accounting for 18.29%of the total number of FCV positive cases.In addition,FCV infection has no relation with season,breed and gender of cats.Furthermore,cats under 1 year old has the highest incidence,accounting for 65.33%of the total number of cases.Stomatitis,gingivitis and upper re-spiratory symptoms are the most common symptoms of this disease,among which stomatitis and gingivitis are significantly correlated with FCV infection.This survey can provide a reference for the prevention and control of FCV infection in Xi'an.
