Effects of Glucose Metabolism and Utilization on Dairy Cows Production
Glucose is not only the main energy substrate for brain cells of central nervous system and embryo in dairy cows, but also the lactose precursor and closely related to milk fat and milk protein synthesis, thus it has key nutritional physiological functions in lactating dairy cows.In order to improve milk performance and physiological health in lactating cows,it is necessary to study its physiological functions and metabolism in dairy cows. Therefore, the generation of glucose, glucose metabolism and utilization in the mammary gland, and the effects of glucose metabolism on dairy cows production were reviewed in order to further reveal the mechanism of glucose metabolic pathways across the whole body, promote the utilization of glucose and afford basic knowledge and references for dairy cow feeding.
