Calcium and phosphorus are essential macronutrients for the normal life activities of laying hens and play a crucial role in a variety of physiological processes in the body.With the intensive development of live-stock and poultry farming,the increasing use of calcium and phosphorus has led to waste of resources,in-creased feed costs and environmental pollution.This paper reviews the physiological functions,requirements and dynamic nutritional needs of calcium and phosphorus and their influencing factors,with the aim of provi-ding a theoretical basis for further research on the nutritional needs model of laying hens and the precise supply of calcium and phosphorus in feeds.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(1):40-54]
