Flaxseed is rich in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids,lignans and other active functional ingredients.Its processing of flaxseed oil and flaxseed cake/meal and other by-products can be used for feed,and has the role of improving animal performance and product quality.This paper mainly reviews the nutritional characteristics,feed value and application in animal production of flaxseed and its processed products(linseed oil,flax meal/meal and active functional ingredients),and points out the problems that flaxseed-related products are currently used in animal feed.The aim is to provide scientific reference for the efficient utilization of flaxseed and its pro-cessed products in animal nutrition.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(1):98-106]
