Determination of Effective Energy and Establishment of Net Energy Prediction Model of Corn Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles in Broilers
In this study, the effective energy values of different corn distillers dried grains with solubles(DDGS)in Arbor Acre(AA)broilers were determined by indirect calorimetry combined with substitution method, and the net energy prediction model was established based on nutrient contents of corn DDGS.A total of 60 AA broilers of 24-day-old with body weight of(1 150±30)g were randomly divided into 5 groups(in-cluding 1 corn-soybean meal type basal diet group and 4 experimental diet groups with 20%replacement ratio of corn DDGS)with 6 replicates per group and 2 broilers per replicate. The trial period lasted for 7 days, and the pre-trial period lasted for 3 days.At 27 days of age,the broilers were transferred to the respiratory calorim-etry chamber for 1 day,and the formal trial period of 3 days began at 28 days of age.The results showed as follows:1)the apparent metabolizable energy of the four corn DDGS in broilers aged from 28 to 31 days was 16.05,18.73,18.73 and 18.36 MJ/kg DM,the net energy was 12.52,15.18,14.74 and 12.86 MJ/kg DM,and the net energy/apparent metabolizable energy were 78.88%,80.86%,79.43%and 69.08%,respectively.2)The net energy prediction equation of corn DDGS in broilers was net energy=12.455-0.359×ether extract+0.425×crude fibre(R2=0.999,P<0.01).Cross-validation method was used to verify the prediction equation of conventional nutrient contents, and the predicted values were close to the measured values with small coeffi-cient of variation. The results indicate that the net energy prediction model of corn DDGS in broilers established in this study is successful.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(5):2948-2957]
