Etiology and Nutritional Regulation of Cat Pancreatitis
Pancreatitis is a common disease in cats with complex causes,severe clinical signs and high mortali-ty,but cat pancreatitis has no specific treatment.Experimental and clinical data from pancreatitis-affected ani-mals have demonstrated the importance of nutritional management measures in treating cat pancreatitis.Nutri-tional modulation not only helps to prevent malnutrition but is also key to reducing systemic inflammation,complications,and mortality.Studies on nutritional modification in cat pancreatitis have focused on the addition of nutrients such as protein,fat,vitamins and minerals.In this paper,we reviewed the relevant studies on the pathogenesis of acute and chronic pancreatitis in cats and their nutritional regulation,aiming to provide a refer-ence for the clinical management of cat pancreatitis.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(6):3500-3506]
