Effects of Microecological Preparations and Fermented White Distiller's Grains on Growth Performance,Serum Biochemical and Immune Indices and Fecal Microflora of Simmental Cattle
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary microecological preparations and fermented white distiller's grains on growth performance, serum biochemical and immune indices and fecal microflora of Simmental cattle.Using a single-factor experimental design, twelve healthy Simmental cattle aged about 6 months with body weight of(155±5)kg were randomly divided into 2 groups with 6 cattle in each group.Cattle in the control group were fed a basal diet, and those in experimental group were fed the basal diet supplemented with 2.0%and 2.5%fermented white distiller's grains and 60 g/t microecological preparations on days 1 to 60 and 61 to 120,respectively.The pre-trial period lasted for 7 days and the experimental period lasted for 120 days. The results showed as follows:1)compared with the control group, the average daily gain(ADG)of Simmental cattle in experimental groups was extremely significantly increased(P<0.01),and the ratio of feed to gain(F/G)was significantly decreased(P<0.05).2)Compared with the control group, the contents of immunoglobulin A(IgA),immunoglobulin G(IgG)and immunoglobulin M(IgM)in serum of Simmental cattle in experimental group were significantly increased(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the Shannon index of fecal microflora of Simmental cattle in experimental group was significantly in-creased(P<0.05);the results of principal coordinate analysis(PCoA)and analysis of similarity(ANOSIM)showed that there were significant differences in fecal microflora between the control group and the experimen-tal group(R=0.327,P=0.007).At the phylum level,Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were the dominant bacte-ria in fecal microflora of Simmental cattle;at the genus level, the dominant genus in fecal microflora was Ru-minococcaceae_UCG-005.In conclusion, dietary microecological preparations and fermented white distiller's grains can improve the growth performance and immune function, increase fecal microflora diversity, and maintain the homeostasis of the digestive tract of Simmental cattle.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(6):3725-3738]
