Effects of Glycerol Monolaurate on Growth Performance,Muscle Nutritional Quality and Intestinal Health of Micropterus salmoides
The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of glycerol monolaurate(GML)on growth performance, muscle nutritional quality and intestinal health of Micropterus salmoides.A total of 1 200 juvenile Micropterus salmoides with body weight of(37.81±1.12)g were randomly divided into 4 groups with 3 replicates per group and 100 fish per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet, and the experimental groups were fed the basal diets supplemented with 0.50,0.75 and 1.00 g/kg GML,respectively. The experi-ment lasted for 130 days. The results showed as follows:1)compared with the control group, the body length and shape ratio of 0.50 and 0.75 g/kg GML groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed coef-ficient and condition factor were significantly decreased(P<0.05).2)Compared with the control group, the intestinal trypsin activity of 0.75 g/kg GML group was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the intestinal li-pase activity of 0.50,0.75 and 1.00 g/kg GML groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the serum alkaline phosphatase and superoxide dismutase activities of 0.50 and 0.75 g/kg GML groups were significantly increased(P<0.05);the serum lysozyme content of 0.50,0.75 and 1.00 g/kg GML groups was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the serum malondialdehyde content was significantly decreased(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the muscle saturated fatty acid content of 0.50,0.75 and 1.00 g/kg GML groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05),muscle polyunsatu-rated fatty acid content was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the muscle glutamate, lysine, histidine and total flavor amino acid contents were significantly increased(P<0.05).In conclusion, the addition of 0.50 and 0.75 g/kg GML in diet can promote the growth performance, muscle nutritional quality and intestinal health of Micropterus salmoides, which indicate that GML has a good application prospect as a functional feed additive.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(6):3892-3902]
