Physiological Functions of Glutamine and Its Effects on Intestinal Health of Weaned Piglets
Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid that can promote the development of intestinal tis-sue,improve the morphology of intestinal tissue, maintain the integrity of intestinal barrier, and maintain a healthy and stable intestinal state in weaned piglets, thereby improving their performance. This article focused on the physiological functions of glutamine and elucidated its effects and mechanisms on the intestinal develop-ment,morphology,and barrier integrity of weaned piglets, providing reference for its rational application in the actual production of weaned piglets.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(7):4126-4135]
