Effects of N-Carbamylglutamic on Growth Performance,Blood Routine Indexes and Plasma Antioxidant and Immune Indexes of Female Hu Sheep at Different Physiological Stages
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary different supplemental levels of N-carbamylglutamic(NCG)at pregnancy period, lactation period and empty period on growth performance, blood routine indexes and plasma antioxidant and immune indexes of female Hu sheep at different physiological stages, and to provide basis for the application of NCG in different physiological stages of the whole production cycle of ewe.A total of 300 healthy first bearing female Hu sheep with similar body weight[(33.6±1.2)kg]at 9 months of age were randomly divided into 4 groups with 5 replicates in each group and 15 sheep in each group. After one month of breeding with natural service method,40 pregnant ewes in each group were selected by B-ultrasound detection, with 4 replicates in each group and 10 sheep in each group. The control group was fed a basal diet, and the experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 1.0(group Ⅰ),1.5(group Ⅱ)and 2 g/d(group Ⅲ)NCG,respectively. The experiment began before the ewes were mated and ended 7 days after the lambs were weaned. The blood of ewes at different physiological stages were collected at early pregnancy period(28 days after the end of male breeding),late pregnancy period(15 days before the expected date of delivery),lactation period(7 days postpartum)and empty period(7 days after weaning of lambs),and determined the blood routine indexes and plasma antioxidant and immune indexes. The results showed as follows:1)at early pregnancy period, the blood monocyte number and mean corpuscular hemoglo-bin content of trial group Ⅱ were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),the blood mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration of trial group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the plasma total antioxidant capacity of trial group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).2)At late pregnancy period, the blood mean platelet volume of trial group Ⅲwas significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the plasma malondialdehyde content of trial group Ⅲ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01),the plasma interleukin-10 content of trial group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the plasma tumor necrosis factor-α content of trial group Ⅰ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).3)At lacta-tion period, the plasma superoxide dismutase activity of trial group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the plasma malondialdehyde content of trial group Ⅲ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),the plasm total antioxidant capacity of trial group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the plasma tumor necrosis factor-α content of trial groupⅠ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).4)At empty period, the blood mean cor-puscular volume of trial group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the blood mean corpuscular hemoglobin content of trial group Ⅰ and trial group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the plasma tumor necrosis factor-α content of trial group Ⅰ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).In summary, dietary supplementation of 2.0 g/d NCG can in-crease the immune function and antioxidant capacity of first bearing female Hu sheep at different physiological stages, improve the health level of ewes.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(7):4473-4485]
