Inhibition Effects and Mechanism of Probiotics on Post-Weaning Diarrhea in Piglets
Post-weaning diarrhea is a common disease, and its high morbidity and mortality will cause great e-conomic losses in pig industry.Probiotics are a kind of microorganism beneficial to animal life activities. As feed additives, probiotics can prevent diarrhea and alleviate the diarrhea symptoms of piglets. This paper re-viewed the effects of probiotics on relieving diarrhea in piglets by self-proliferation and inhibiting harmful mi-croorganisms to maintain intestinal homeostasis, producing active substances to consolidate intestinal barrier, and directly or indirectly interacting with cell surface receptors to enhance intestinal immunity, analyzed the specific mechanisms of probiotics on anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptosis of intestinal cells, aiming to provide a reference for fully understanding the mechanism of probiotics inhibiting diarrhea in piglets and its application in piglet feeding.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(8):4795-4808]
