Research Advances on Prevention and Control of Avian Colibacillosis with Non-Antibiotic Substances
Avian colibacillosis is one of the main bacterial infectious diseases that seriously influences the health, growth and production of poultry, which brings huge economic losses to poultry industry.Antibiotics play an important role in the prevention and treatment of avian colibacillosis. However, with the implementa-tion of the restriction of therapeutic antibiotics and the prohibition of feeding antibiotics in chickens worldwide, the incidence of avian colibacillosis is on the rise globally, posing a serious threat to the growth and health of poultry. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new technologies and products to replace antibiotics for the prevention and control of avian colibacillosis. This review first introduces the risks of avian colibacillosis, and then focuses on the efficacy and mechanism of feeding antibiotic substitutes in the prevention and control of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli(APEC)infection. The article will provide theoretical references for the de-velopment and application of non-antibiotic substances to prevent and control avian colibacillosis.[Chinese Journal of AnimalNutrition,2024,36(8):4809-4822]
