Advances in Natural Active Substances Regulating Adiponectin Signaling Pathway
Adiponectin is a protein hormone secreted by adipose tissue cells that can participate in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, improving insulin resistance,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant stress, regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis, immune response, and other physiological or pathological processes. This arti-cle provided an overview of the biological functions of adiponectin and its key signaling molecules that exert bi-ological effects. It reviewed the natural active substances that have been proven in literature to regulate the adi-ponectin signaling pathway, summarized their regulatory mechanisms, and impacts on related diseases. The aim is to provide references for further research on the application of natural active substances to regulate the adiponectin signaling pathway, and to develop natural drugs and feed additives for the prevention and treatment of disease associated with metabolic disorders in livestock and poultry such as obesity in dogs and cats, ketosis and fatty liver in perinatal cows, fatty liver disease in poultry, chronic intestinal inflammation,as well as pro-moting intestinal digestion and absorption, improving intestinal health, reducing body fat content, and impro-ving the carcass and meat quality of livestock and poultry.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(8):4881-4895]
