Research Progress on Physiological Functions of Vitamin E and Its Application in Ruminant Production
As an antioxidant,vitamin E has many functions such as antioxidative stress mitigation,immune en-hancement,reproductive enhancement,and improvement of meat quality.It is widely employed as a feed addi-tive in livestock and poultry production practices.This paper summarized the existence,absorption and metabo-lism,physiological functions,and application of vitamin E in ruminant production,in order to provide refer-ence for the utilization of vitamin E in ruminant production.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2024,36(12):7573-7580]
