In this paper,the classic comprehensive organic synthesis experiment course,the synthesis of Benzocaine,has been redesigned and upgraded to an innovative experiment allowing for route design and condition optimization.Students are encouraged to conduct literature research,undertake comprehensive analyses,and evaluate synthesis strategies and specific experimental conditions.They are then tasked with proposing an experimental scheme that balances both macro(route)and micro(specific conditions)perspectives,overcoming the limitations and deficiencies of the original experiment.Depending on the students'majors and training programs,certain or all"permissions"are granted for students,which enables students to start with different raw materials,design environmentally-friendly and efficient synthesis routes,determine specific experimental plans,and optimize the experimental conditions based on the model route.Beyond gaining foundational experimental operation skills,students embrace a heightened philosophy of green,efficient,and sustainable synthesis.The approach urges students to apply scientific thinking,incorporating cutting-edge academic achievements into experimental practices,thereby nurturing their scientific innovation capabilities.It also guides students to adopt a holistic perspective,enhancing their awareness of and capabilities in team collaboration.
