Experimental Teaching Design on Chitosan Extraction and Preparation of Antibacterial Gel
Chitosan,a deacetylated form of chitin,is renowned for its exceptional biocompatibility and antibacterial capabilities, making it a material of choice in various biomedical applications such as antimicrobial disinfection and drug delivery. This study, rooted in the principle of sustainable development of waste utilization, employs shrimp shells—an everyday kitchen waste—as the raw material for extracting chitin and preparing chitosan.Comprehensive characterization techniques are conducted to substantiate the viewpoints in the paper, leading to the development of a chitosan-based antibacterial gel.Employing a gradient science popularization program,we captivate audiences ranging from kindergarten children to university students and the general public, illuminating the allure of chemistry. The study aims to spark public interest in the subject, inviting everyone to discard preconceived notions and rediscover the intrinsic beauty of chemistry from a more enlightened vantage point.
