"Five Only",Multidimensions to Self-actualization:Where is the Reform of University Education Evaluation Going Forward?
As a key area and primary task of university education evaluation reform, the effort to break the "Five-Only" has achieved phased results, and multidimensional evaluation has become the new target model for education evaluation. However, due to the inherent characteristics of formalization, simplification, and computational nature of the "Five Only" evaluation,it remains challenging to replace it with multidimensional evaluation in practical reform efforts.Multidimensional evaluation is affected by factors such as value, methodology, and technology, making it difficult and expensive to implement. The transition from "Five Only" to multidimensional evaluation is neither the best nor the final option for education evaluation reform.Only by shifting to "Self-Actualization" evaluation, which fundamentally reflects the dominance of schools, scholars, and academics,we can truly escape the "Five Only" evaluation trap. This approach will effectively establish a university education evaluation system that aligns with the principles of education and evaluation, embodies Chinese characteristics, and meets world standards, thereby promoting the construction of a powerful country in higher education.
